It is a sad day when you return to Lancaster Uni to find a massive pile of rubble not dissimilar to Grizedale college where many a County-ite used to rest their heads...the day however, becomes slightly less sad for some when they realize that the pile of bricks used to be County West.

Yes, that is correct, COUNTY WEST IS NO MORE! After years of being told that another generation of County students would not have to suffer its prison-esque decor the West has finally hit the dust, a welcoming thought for many new County students you would have assumed!

But wait! Love it or loathe it, County West still offered new County students a huge advantage on plans for this next academic year...it was on campus! Stirrings in the water suggest that some County freshers will have to live in houses in town along with freshers from other colleges. All efforts are being made to assure that these freshers will still get the County freshers’ week experience so do not fear, my friends, all is not lost!!

What shall follow in the West’s place? Well, County West was removed to make way for the next phase of the County rejuvenation work and shall be replaced by town houses and general new stuff (forgive me for being vague but certain plans are still in discussion). The town houses shall be named after flowers native to the british isles, a name beginning with each letter of the alphabet to be decided by the SCR.

In closing I suggest that we all take a minute to remember the joy that County West brought to our lives....hahahha good times.

COUNTY WEST IS NO MORE!
